Luxury treehouses at Centre Parcs, Elveden Forest in Suffolk have welcomed their first guests following completion using Western red cedar shingles.
The four treehouses, which contain luxury features such as TV room and games den, en-suite bathrooms and hot tubs, have been designed to blend in seamlessly with the woodland surroundings. Blue label shingles were specified for their ability to provide a high quality long-life solution with low maintenance, which fit perfectly with the natural environment.
In total, 564 bundles of Shingles were needed for the project and sub-contractor Lodge Roofing were appointed to undertake the installation. The independent roofing contractor has worked with Shingles for a number of years so, when it came to specifying a roofing solution which was not only easy to install but would weather naturally, Marley's Western red cedar shingles were the ideal choice.
Furthermore, shingles also deliver one of the lowest carbon footprints of any widely used building product, representing a net carbon sink upon delivery, meaning more carbon is stored in the shingle than is emitted during its harvest, manufacture and transportation combined.
