To make sure the project ran smoothly, Bainland worked closely with their preferred supplier, Jackson Buildbase, with whom they have enjoyed a strong partnership over the years. By delivering excellent logistics, Jackson Buildbase has supported the park’s growth in recent years while keeping disruption to a minimum. The installer of the park’s decking was no exception, with deliveries coordinated to suit the contractor’s schedule.

“Our relationship with the park represents an ongoing project of chalet installations that encompasses work across the board, from plant to materials”, explained Paul at Jackson Buildbase. Commenting on Marley’s anti-slip decking, he went on: “Marley AntiSlip Plus^® decking is a product we have been using for a long time because of the incredible benefits it brings to a project, and we always recommend the product to our clients when drawing up plans for undertakings such as this.”

Sabre Contracts are responsible for all work on the site. “The whole park is outfitted with AntiSlip Plus^® decking and handrails,” commented Brian of Sabre. “The timber decking is also used for the bridges and boardwalks around the three lakes of the park, designed for wild swimming. So far, over 7,000 linear metres of Marley AntiSlip Plus^® decking has been installed at Bainland Lodge Park ensuring the park maintains its rustic feel and distinct aesthetic.”

Marley AntiSlip Plus^® deck boards have been independently tested by the Health & Safety Laboratory in accordance with BS 7976 and significantly exceed the minimum slip requirements. The deck boards are preservative treated, and for the application at Bainland Lodge Park, treated to Use Class 3 to ensure longevity.

As with all projects, Marley were on hand to provide technical support from specification to installation. Marley ensures that all its products stand the test of time and all decking is treated to achieve a 30-year service life. This treatment does not need to be reapplied after initial application.

Marley is certified by PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification), ensuring that all the decking products are manufactured from sustainably sourced timber. Additionally, all the decking timber is structurally graded to a minimum of C16 – for extra peace of mind.
